Candidate for Director-at-Large Megan MaurerBiography

Megan Maurer is assistant director of Scenic Regional Library in Union, MO; and is a graduate of Eureka College in Eureka, IL and The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. Megan has worked in a variety of library settings throughout her career, including public, correctional, and a state library. She began her career in children’s services and moved into an administrative role seven years ago. Megan has served on the committees for the Indiana Library Federation, Missouri Library Association, and is currently serving as chair of the Public Library Association Leadership Development Committee.

Megan is an avid runner, aspiring pickleball player, and volunteers as a CASA. She is married and has two daughters, a cat, and a dog.

Personal Statement

“Throughout my library career, I have been motivated to participate in the growth and development of the profession. I want to serve on the PLA Board of Directors to continue my active participation in the forward progress and changes occurring within public libraries. Additionally, my aspirations as a board member would be to represent the concerns of small and rural libraries.”
