We Are ALSC Chats | ALSC Blog | Children & Libraries (CAL) |
Led by ALSC leaders, these informal chats are designed to be online networking spaces for resource sharing and discussion around timely topics in children's services. |
The ALSC Blog provides a venue for coverage of time sensitive news in children’s librarianship, current issues in the field, and programs, initiatives, resources, and activities of interest to members and those interested in children’s librarianship. |
Published quarterly, CAL serves as a vehicle for continuing education for librarians working with children, and showcases current scholarly research and practice in the field and significant activities and initiatives of the Association. |

TOOLS & RESOURCES
#LooktoLibraries | Book & Media Awards Shelf | Booklists |
#LooktoLibraries is ALSC's national public awareness campaign that demonstrates the value and impact children's library professionals have on their communities. |
The Awards Shelf is database driven website presenting a curated collection of books, recordings, apps, websites, and other media for children (birth to age 14). |
ALSC booklists are created as a resource for librarians to share with patrons. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to explore these titles to find resources that may match or spark their child's interest. |
ADVANCE YOUR LIBRARY & CAREER
Mentoring Program | Professional Awards | Advocacy Resources |
ALSC's Mentoring Program matches individuals with an interest in library service to children together for a one-year program to develop skills and build connections in the field. |
Every year, more than $100,000 is given away to members through ALSC's professional awards, grants, and scholarships! |
ALSC provides members with the tools and necessary resources to help them develop their advocacy skills. |
