Description

Join us for a day visiting four national showrooms that offer a wide variety of furniture for areas within your facility. This is an opportunity to see and hear about new furniture and proven furniture. Next, there will be a visit to a furniture factory to learn about the process and how to select finishes. The day will conclude with a visit to a Chicago furniture manufacturer's showroom to see their latest and enjoy their hospitality. Participants of this tour will have a better understanding of the commercial furniture market and the variety of library-appropriate furniture that is available, understand how to select furniture and upholstery based on construction, durability, cleanability, and cost, be able to test a variety of chairs, tables, desks, booths, and pods, and understand how a chair is designed and constructed. This tour is for all Librarians - anyone with a physical space. This includes Public, Academic, and Special Libraries, as well as Architects, Interior Designers, and Library Facilities staff.
