Description

Join Core’s Buildings for College and University Libraries (BCUL) committee as we tour two innovative academic learning spaces:

University of Chicago’s Regenstein Library – Project overview and tour of the recently completed Librarian offices, document delivery center, and under-construction Center for Digital Scholarship. Then discuss planning projects over lunch.

The second stop will be Illinois Institute of Technology’s (IIT) Kaplan Family Institute for Innovation. Tour and discussion of this flexible and technologically advanced learning facility.

Participants in this tour will understand the evolving nature of the role of the academic library as a learning space on college and university campuses and the resultant physical facility implications. Learn the role of architecture and physical space as it relates to fostering creativity and innovation through flexible and technologically advanced learning facilities. Gain knowledge on the role of the academic Library in creating campus hubs for collaboration, instruction, research and support, computing, and data science.

Includes lunch and transportation.
