Connected Learning Research Network

The network’s research is geared towards understanding the opportunities and risks for learning afforded by today's changing media ecology, as well as building new learning environments that support effective learning and educational equity. Digital Learning Day/Alliance for Excellent Education

is a nationwide celebration of innovative teaching and learning through digital media and technology that engages students and provides them with a rich, personalized educational experience. On the first Digital Learning Day, a majority of states, hundreds of school districts, thousands of teachers, and nearly 2 million students encouraged the innovative use of technology by trying something new, showcasing success, kicking off project-based learning, or focusing on how digital tools can help improve student outcomes.

Institute of Museum and Library Services

has previously funded YALSA's project and is also funding YALSA's project from 2016 - 2018, which will provide funds for YALSA and ARSL to train small, rural and tribal library staff in providing college and career readiness services for and with the middle schoolers in their communities. YALSA has also been involved with "Transforming Teen Services: a Train the Trainer Approach" from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2021. This effort brings together state library agency (SLA) youth consultants and front-line library staff for a robust training program.
