When communicating with newspaper reporters, radio and TV interviewers, and other media personnel, please ask that the full credit statement be included in articles and features. You may wish to include a line set off at the beginning of news releases that states, “Editor: Please do not edit out 91´«Ã½ and Capital One in paragraph __.”
91´«Ã½ and Capital One should be acknowledged orally at news conferences, public programs, and radio or television interviews. Use the official exhibition credit (see below) as a guide. When in doubt, ask the 91´«Ã½ Public Programs Office (publicprograms@ala.org).
Creating Your Own Communications
If the above templates do not meet your needs, you are welcome to create your own materials, provided they include the proper logos/acknowledgments. As a general rule, any materials you create related to your Community Connect work (e.g., press releases, media alerts, webpages, invitations, flyers, posters, bookmarks) should include a “nod” to Capital One and 91´«Ã½.
If your library wishes to make its own graphic or press materials, you must include:
On graphic materials, both logos and credit statement should appear at a size that is readable and appropriate to the overall design. If space does not allow you to include both the logos and credit statement, you may include just the credit statement.
Logo files and credit statement can be found below.
