Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863 and the March on Washington, 1963" is a traveling exhibition hosted by fifty libraries, museums, and public sites across America. This exhibition, a collaboration between the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Public Programs Office, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC), and the National Museum of American History (NMAH), with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), explores the profound connection between these two pivotal events in American history. By presenting these historic milestones, the exhibition aims to inspire public audiences to reflect upon and discuss the ongoing quest for liberty and justice in America. The exhibit will tour from February 2014 to December 2017, with each site hosting it for six weeks and offering public programs to foster community engagement and education.
