GameRT Committees

The GameRT has a number of committees that manage different round table programs, events, and initiatives. Committees are a great way to get involved and become a more active member of both the GameRT, 91´«Ã½, and the library profession. There are many opportunities to participate even if you are unable to attend every conference.
GameRT Committees
- Plans and coordinates the International Games Month effort, held annually every November
- Works with vendors and sponsors to obtain and distribute incentives for libraries signing up for the effort
- Works with the Outreach Committee to publicize IGM to the library community
- Corresponds with other international libraries and library organizations and coordinate their participation
- Organizes programming for 91´«Ã½ Annual, virtual events, and other where practicable
- Coordinating 91´«Ã½ Play at Annual
- Developing 91´«Ã½ Gaming Lounge at Annual
- Developing President’s Program at Annual in coordination with GameRT's President
- Developing new ideas and opportunities for promoting GameRT’s goals
- Sourcing and ordering GameRT conference swag
- Promotes membership and involvement in GameRT and 91´«Ã½
- Maintains the GameRT and website, including creating and maintaining resources on utilizing games in libraries- in both programming and collection capacities
- Maintains GameRT's presence on social media

- Judges applications for the annual Game On! grant.
- Polling and outreach to membership and prospective members to determine path forward for GameRT
- Maintaining relationships with larger gaming community, including vendors and designers, as well as non-library gaming groups
- Maintaining a contact list of the above
- Monitoring and reporting on changes in the gaming world
Platinum Play Awards Committee
- Runs and maintains the annual Platinum Play Award for best games, in any format, for library use
Metadata Committee
- Creates resources to aid in the cataloging and processing of games into library collections
- Advocates for standards in games cataloging to library and gaming professionals
