ACRL helps keep me informed of new directions in research and conversations happening within our profession. As an early career librarian (I just celebrated my three-year workiversary at TCC in November), I also really appreciate the connections I've made with so many wonderful librarians through committee work, conferences, and the Immersion program.

I do quite a bit of teaching, but I'm also responsible for collection development at my campus library and I serve as the liaison for our Communication and Visual & Performing Arts departments. I'm part of the OER team and the Common Book Committee, which means I get to work with folks outside the library to advocate for open resources and to help plan our next college-wide read! And my fellow TCC librarians and I frequently support college administration with research on strategic initiatives.

While the last two years have been a wild, bumpy ride, I've been able to adapt and continue to enjoy my profession and the work we do at TCC Library. Much of that is a credit to my library's leadership team and support from my colleagues. They have given me room to grow--to try out new things in the library and in the classroom, to step up and lead, and to fail every now and then. I love being in the classroom, but I didn't expect to enjoy the challenges of my position's other hats quite as much--faculty collaborations, facilitating our library's professional learning community, research projects for the college, collection development, and, most importantly, all of the opportunities I have to engage with our students outside the classroom. It's never boring!
