ACRL has been a place for me to connect with library professionals early on in my library career, and I think that those connections have really helped me grow into the professional I am today. I value the opportunities to engage and learn from so many different people, in many different ways!

As a First Year Experience librarian, I work with a lot of new, fresh to college students. My goal is to help acclimate these students to the Library's resources and services through teaching library instructions, as well as to connect and engage with departments across campus who also work with first year students. Outreach is a big part of my job. Working with other campus partners, student organizations, and community partners, we can help make a big campus be more welcoming, to all students!

Being an academic librarian, and working with first year students, is kind of the best. I love being able to wear a few different hats, teaching library instruction and get students started on thinking critically about what they research and engage with. I enjoy collaborating with other librarians and campus/community partners and creating programs and events to help students learn and connect and grow. Every day and every semester is a little bit different, and there is really no limit in what we can try and do. I am grateful to work in a place where creativity and collaboration are encouraged, because it makes my job a lot of fun!
