Describe ACRL in three words:

Engaging, informative, focused.

What do you value about ACRL?

91´«Ã½

The interactions and connections with other community college librarians around the country are extremely valuable to me. We often face situations that are unique to two year colleges. It is helpful to have CJCLS as a support and resource. But I also value the experiences and insights that all academic librarians bring to ACRL and I am a better librarian and library director because others are willing to share and collaborate.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

91´«Ã½

I am very focused on providing the best services and support to the students at my college. This has led to my library establishing a Family Study Room with monetary support from our Friends organization, developing a diverse collection on Overdrive to expand our reach during the early days of the pandemic, and providing students a physical and virtual space for learning.

In your own words

91´«Ã½

I am glad that my current job allows me to be both a library director and a librarian. As someone who is naturally curious and likes to share my knowledge, helping students reach that "aha!" moment when they find the perfect article or book is deeply satisfying. It gives me a sense of joy to walk around my library, see our students reading, studying or just hanging out, and know that I am part of providing a useful and valuable space on my campus.
