Describe yourself in three words:

Curious, creative, collaborative.

What are you reading (or listening to on your mobile device)?

91´«Ã½

I'm reading "Four Hundred Souls," a fascinating collection of historical essays and poems that chronicle 400 years of African American history. I also enjoy listening to Crissle and Kid Fury on their weekly podcast, The Read.

Describe ACRL in three words:

Community, resources, fun.

What do you value about ACRL?

91´«Ã½

ACRL has allowed me to remain active in our profession while often challenging my ideas of academic libraries through professional development and special programming.

What do you as an academic librarian contribute to your campus?

91´«Ã½

As the Undergraduate Student Success Librarian at North Carolina A&T, I teach information literacy sessions for the Written Communication (WC) Program, provide one-on-one research consultations, and design and manage programs that connect students to the library's resources. I also serve on our Text-in-Community Committee, which stimulates critical thinking and gives new students a shared experience. As a first-generation college student, the highlight of my short career has been a newly created partnership with TRiO Student Support Services.

In your own words

91´«Ã½

I might suffer from a mild case of what Fobazi Ettarh describes as vocational awe, but I'm trying to show our undergraduates the magic of academic libraries. I've done my job when our students feel empowered to create new knowledge, imagine new worlds, and make new things.
