Since 2006 at UW Libraries, I have contributed to the profession through my disciplinary and language expertise as well as other library skills that I gained over the year.I have worked closely with faculty and students, developed South Asian Studies collection, offered reference consultations, written several grants, chaired ACRL panels and worked on several academic presentations and publications. I have also contributed to digital scholarship projects and participated in cooperative collection development efforts. I have joined many committees, working groups and task forces to learn about policies, best practices, collections, open educational resources, technologies, accessibility, diversity, equity and inclusivity or open access initiatives and contributed my expertise. I have collaborated with local, national, and international partners to establish professional relationships with vendors or shortlist materials to be digitized for South Asia Open Archives or present at international conferences in India.

I have been really enjoying the multifaceted aspect of subject librarianship. Each day brings endless possibilities of learning or trying something new. Whether it is answering an in depth reference question or applying design thinking approach for a successful student learning outcome or using a tool such as Omeka for a Digital Scholarship project or being involved in the promotion of open access initiatives, the possibilities of learning are endless.
