The Immersion Program Committee acts as an oversight council for the Immersion Program and works closely with Immersion Program faculty and ACRL staff to market and promote Immersion Program, develop conference programming related to the Immersion Program, sustain the community of Immersion Program alumni and cultivate their engagement, support assessment efforts, and review applications for the Immersion Program scholarships.

Composition

  • A minimum of five members (i.e. a chair, vice-chair, and three members)
  • Ex-officio members include the Immersion Faculty Program Coordinator(s)
  • Additional appointments at the discretion of the Vice-President/President-Elect and Appointments Committee
  • Since it is important that the vice-chair/chair be knowledgeable about the responsibilities and concerns of the committee, it is suggested that the committee vice-chair/chair be selected from the existing committee membership.

In 2008, the Immersion Program Committee was reconstituted by the ACRL Board as a standing committee from the former Institute for Information Literacy Executive Committee as part of the new Information Literacy Coordinating Committee structure.
