Wines attained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College (2000) and Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Albany, State University of New York, (2004). During her professional career, she has been the library director at Altamont Free Library (New York) and an adjunct instructor at Bryant and Stratton College. She has also been a teacher in the Upward Bound and Peace Corps programs. She is currently the library director at the RCS Community Library (New York).
