About

91´«Ã½

The SCOTYA Committee was impressed by University of North Carolina (UNCG) at Greensboro’s Library and Information Studies Student Association’s outreach to distance education students. The association hosted meetups in several locations for distance students and utilized a variety of tools to communicate with members. Association members were active in their local communities as part of a community service program celebrating the 125th anniversary of UNCG. Their initial goal was to give back to their communities by completing 125 hours of community service initiatives. The program was so successful that they increased the number of hours to 300! Additionally, the Library and Information Studies program at UNCG was undergoing reaccreditation. The association held town hall meetings and visited classes to provide information about the reaccreditation process and to answer student questions.
