About

91´«Ã½

In recognition of her significant contributions and outstanding leadership in the field of library acquisitions. By her energy, creativity, innovation, wit and charm, Katina has rendered the Charleston Conference an annual pilgrimage for an ever growing number of colleagues in library acquisitions, collection development, scholarly publishing, and related fields. Her accomplishments extend beyond organizing a popular conference: providing an innovative forum for acquisitions librarians to share experience and ideas; establishing important lines of discussion among librarians, vendors, and publishers; extending opportunities for new librarians and other lesser known colleagues to be heard; attracting an array of fine minds within and beyond librarianship to address library, publishing, vending, and related issues; and fostering informed debate over the toughest issues facing all components of the information chain. Further, she created an information network with Against the Grain for her colleagues who found that an annual pilgrimage was not enough to keep current with developments and the exchange of ideas. And lastly, we convey appreciation to Katina for still being crazy after all these years.
