The French artist Louise Bourgeois was definitely a woman ahead of her time. Known for her post modern arachnid sculptures, hemp and naturalistic material pieces and rebellious attitude, she is known for coining the phrase “Art is the promise the artist makes to the community that they will not commit murder.”
