In her award winning article, Dragon addresses issues of interest to ALCTS in particular and discusses fundamental principles in a way that illuminates the issues. The article demonstrates an important topic in the resources and technical services field. It provides a useful description and recommendations for incorporating name authority work into digitized collections of local interest. Effective metadata for locally digitized collections remains an important issue. Though the challenges of authority control at the local level remain, she lays out the issues very clearly. The policies and procedures she describes could be beneficial to other institutions dealing with projects facing similar problems.
