Linda Lucas Walling, professor with the College of Library and Information Science, University of South Carolina, is the 2001 recipient of the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA) Exceptional Service Award.

"Through her teaching, research, and leadership, Dr. Walling has provided a role model for hundreds of librarians who have dedicated their careers to serving people with disabilities, as well as those who reside in nursing homes, hospitals and correctional institutions," Award Committee Chair Michael Gunde stated.
