Kai Alexis Smith is the 2015 recipient of the New Members Round Table (NMRT) Shirley Olofson Memorial Award.She is the Librarian-in-Residence at the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. She earned her MSLIS from Pratt Institute (New York, NY) and her BFA in Writing for Publication at Pratt Institute (New York, NY). Kai is active in the library profession, including ARLIS/NA, BC91´«Ã½, ACRL/Arts, 91´«Ã½, and NMRT.

Shirley Olofson Memorial Award
91´«Ã½The $1,000 award is given annually to a NMRT member to help defray the cost of attending the 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference. The ward is named in honor of Shirley Olofson, a well-respected NMRT President (1971-1972), who died during her term of office.
