Paul Conway has contributed thought and leadership to the field of preservation for many years through his work as a preservation officer and library administrator and through his active participation in 91´«Ã½ and other professional associations. A prolific writer, speaker, and teacher, he is widely recognized for his creative and energetic role in re-conceptualizing preservation for libraries and archives that include an ever broader range of media. His landmark 1996 essay, “Preservation in the Digital World”, presented a cogent, thoughtful, and accessible analysis of daunting new challenges in preservation. Paul continues to engage these challenges in ways that spark debate and catalyze changes

in best practice.
