About

91´«Ã½

Katherine Treptow Farrell and Marc Truitt call attention to a long neglected area for standard setting. After pointing out the pitfalls of proprietary systems, they clearly articulate the importance of standards for the daily functioning of acquisitions, for system migration, for fiscal comparisons, and for the collection of bibliographic management data. The implementation of acquisitions standards would facilitate research and allow accurate comparisons across systems.
