American-Style Research

to Frans Albarillo, assistant professor and librarian, Brooklyn College

About

91´«Ã½

This project explores foreign-born students’ perception of research practices in the United States using in-depth semi-structured interviews, building on responses to an initial survey question administered by librarian Frans Albarillo in fall 2014 in which 50 percent of respondents believed there was an “American way” of doing research. The interviews focus on concepts such as plagiarism, library services, piracy, and copyright and will help librarians understand the experiences of foreign-born students.
