New webinar series examines hiring and onboarding in youth services

CHICAGO — The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), a division of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½), is pleased to announce a three-part webinar series from its Managing Children’s Services committee: “Building Great Teams: Hiring and Onboarding in Youth Services.” This webinar series is designed for library directors, leadership, human resources staff and other hiring managers, youth services managers, branch managers, as well as experienced youth services staff who are looking to develop their management skills.
The series kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, with “Best Practices for Recruiting and Hiring in Youth Services,” which gives attendees concrete strategies to market to the best candidate and to create hiring processes that encourage a more diverse candidate pool.
On Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, “Onboarding Tips and Tricks in Youth Services” will address meaningful and efficient onboarding strategies to bring new hires in and help them feel empowered in their roles.
On Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, “Mentoring and Beyond in Youth Services” will focus on how to develop new and extant staff members, including impactful ways to teach, coach and mentor those staff to become leaders in your organization.
All webinars in the series occur at 1 p.m. ET /noon CT.
