PR Sunday Spotlight to focus on marketing and public relations sessions at 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference and Exhibition

CHICAGO – 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½) Annual Conference and Exhibition attendees will have access to a series of innovative library public relations programs and events on Sunday, June 24. Known as the PR Sunday Spotlight, this series of select programs and events will offer library professionals the opportunity to attend five marketing and public-relations focused sessions on the same day.
PR Sunday Spotlight sessions include:
9 – 10 a.m., Sunday, June 24, Morial Convention Center, Room 386-387
Building strong partnerships and effective collaboration with the business and political leaders in your community is a critical element in advocating for your library. This session will help attendees to develop fluency and comfort in using the language of the “E’s of Libraries” in their communities, and sharing that message in everyday conversations with people outside the library profession.

The Library Leadership and Management Association’s PR XChange Event is a great way to learn from your peers by viewing and taking home sample marketing materials from this year’s winners of the PR XChange Awards. On display will be a multitude of print and electronic promotional materials from all types of libraries across North America.

Learn about using and promoting Book Club Central () in your library and community. Booklist editor Donna Seaman will moderate a panel that will include librarian Bill Kelly of Cuyahoga County (Ohio) Public Library; James Mustich (bookseller and author of “1,000 Books to Read Before You Die”), and Amy Stewart (author, bookseller, and speaker).. Book Club Central is an online resource for book clubs and readers featuring author interviews, discussion questions and more. Award-winning actor, producer, and avid reader Sarah Jessica Parker is the Honorary Chair of Book Club Central and a passionate advocate for libraries and literacy. Ms. Parker offers her own book selections for Book Club Central as part of .
