BRYN MAWR, Pennsylvania -- United for Libraries has awarded the 2018 United for Libraries/ThriftBooks Friend Conference Grant to Jennifer Kaminski, secretary of the Friends of the Daviess County Public Library in Owensboro, Ky.

Kaminski will receive $850 plus full conference registration to attend the 2018 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in New Orleans. A formal presentation to the grant winner will be made at the conference.

In addition to serving as secretary of the Friends of the Daviess County Public Library, Kaminski represents the group at the annual Friends of Kentucky Libraries board meeting. She helps plan and promote meet-and-greet legislative events, and represents the Friends at Imagination Library events (Dolly Parton’s initiative to provide monthly books to young children, beginning at birth). She has served on the board since 2009.

Kaminski earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Western Kentucky University, and has been a communications specialist/graphic designer for the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky., since 2005. She has also served on the board of the international Communicators for Women Religious, and is the vice chair of the Daviess County Democratic Woman’s Club.
