Learning Round Table offers Annual preconference on creating effective videos and screencasts

CHICAGO — Do you want to harness the power of video for achieving learning objectives? The Learning Round Table is proud to present a practical learning experience that will enrich your trip to the 2014 Annual Conference. During this boot camp, facilitator Royce Kitts of Washburn University will guide you through the process of creating effective video learning content. He will lead you from the “why are we making this” stage to the “this is how you make it” stage.

As a boot camp participant, you will experience the entire video creation process, from project design and objectives to shooting, recording and editing. Along the way you will encounter best practices, learning object development skills and effective methods to promote your newly created learning objects.

This is a BYOD (bring your own device) session! You will be will be shooting a movie, so please bring:

  • a device capable of recording video
  • and a laptop (with either Windows Movie Maker or iMovie installed). You will need to be able to transfer the video you shoot from your device to your computer.



Participants will leave with an authentic hands on experience able to create projects at their own library.



Royce Kitts is currently a coordinator at the Carnegie Education Library of , former director of the Tonganoxie (Kan.) Public Library and past president of Kansas Library Association.
