Cardenas-Dow named 2013 ACRL/LLAMA Presidents’ Program leadership moment contest winner

CHICAGO – The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and the Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) are pleased to announce that Melissa Cardenas-Dow, outreach/behavioral sciences librarian at the University of Redlands Armacost Library, has been selected as the winner of the associations' leadership moments essay contest, held in conjunction with the joint ACRL/LLAMA Presidents’ Program. Cardenas-Dow's winning essay is available on the (PDF).
The award will be presented at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013, during the ACRL/LLAMA Presidents’ Program that will take place during the 2013 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Chicago. Titled “Standing on Marbles: Ensuring Steady Leadership in Unsteady Times,” the program will feature noted author, executive coach and leadership consultant Dr. Karol M. Wasylyshyn.
Cardenas-Dow is the chair of the Asian Pacific American Librarians Association (AP91´«Ã½) Web Content Subcommittee and the co-chair of the 91´«Ã½ New Members Round Table (NMRT) Membership, Promotion, Diversity and Recruitment committee (MPDR). In 2011, she participated in 91´«Ã½'s Emerging Leaders program.
