2013 Bogle-Pratt International Library Travel Fund winner announced

The Bogle Memorial Fund and the Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science will provide a $1,000 cash award for Dawson-Andoh to attend her first international conference in Pretoria, South Africa.
Dawson-Andoh, the Africana Studies librarian at Ohio University Libraries, is the 2013 Bogle Pratt International Travel Fund recipient. The Bogle Pratt International Travel Fund is sponsored by the Bogle Memorial Fund and the Pratt Institute School of Information and Library Science. An award of $1,000 is given to an 91´«Ã½ member to attend the nominee's first international conference. The nominee must have been an 91´«Ã½ member for one full year. The award is recognizes Sarah Comly Norris Bogle, a prominent U.S. librarian who made notable contributions to children’s librarianship, international library service and library education.
Dawson-Andoh plans to attend the Africa Library Summit in Pretoria, South Africa where she will present on the importance of strategic international partnerships. As one Bogle Pratt committee member remarked: “Araba Dawson-Andoh has an incredible record of relevant service and scholarship. The conference that she is attending and the paper that she will be presenting tie directly into her role at Ohio University Libraries and her clear professional passion.”
Dawson-Andoh will be recognized during the International Librarians Reception at 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Chicago.
