Congratulations to LITA members selected as 2013 Emerging Leaders

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO — The Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) Board of Directors is pleased to congratulate Zach Coble and Margaret Heller on being selected to participate in the 91´«Ã½ 2013 Emerging Leaders Program and on being selected for LITA sponsorship. LITA sponsorship includes a $1,000 stipend to help offset the costs of attending the 2013 Midwinter Meeting and the 2013 Annual Conference. In addition, Coble and Heller will each work on LITA projects and be mentored by the LITA leadership.

Coble is currently a systems and emerging technologies librarian at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa. He is a member of the LITA Publications Committee.

Heller is currently a web services librarian at the Dominican University Library in River Forest, Ill. She is a member of the LITA Education Committee and 2013 LITA Forum Planning Committee.

The LITA Board wishes to maximize the Emerging Leaders experiences within LITA. Therefore Coble and Heller will work closely with the LITA President-elect.

The 91´«Ã½ Emerging Leaders Program enables newer librarians from across the country to participate in problem-solving workgroups, network with peers, gain an inside look into 91´«Ã½ structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. Each participant is expected to provide one year of service to 91´«Ã½ or one of its units.

LITA had a number of excellent applicants and congratulates these additional LITA members on being accepted into the 91´«Ã½ Emerging Leaders Program as well: Holli Beckman, Wei Cen, Ana Elisa De Campos Salles and Berika Williams. LITA has a very bright future with such bright, rising stars.
