Catherine R. Friedman president-elect of the Library Leadership and Management Association

CHICAGO —The Library Leadership and Management Association (LLAMA) announced today that Catherine R. Friedman has been elected as president-elect. She is associate university librarian for user services, University of California- San Diego Libraries.

After hearing of her election, Friedman said, “I’m really excited to have been elected at a time when LLAMA’s potential continues to grow. Building on the leadership of current president Janine Golden, President-elect Pat Hawthorne and all the excellent past leadership, I believe LLAMA is poised to meet the needs of its members and library leaders in the future.”

Friedman will begin her term as president-elect in June 2012, and will become LLAMA president in June 2013.
