Get the scoop on STEM in YALSA’s YA Forum discussion this week

CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) will feature Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in its monthly YA Forum discussion, held for members this month at . Throughout the week, YALSA members are encouraged to check in to the discussion forum and ask questions and contribute to the ongoing discussion. The forum will open at 10 a.m. EDT on Oct. 3 and will close Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. EDT.
From discussion lists to blogs to Twitter, everyone is talking about STEM. This month's YA Forum will cover what STEM is and how you can incorporate it into your library. We’ll share ideas on STEM programming and how to build collaborative STEM partnerships with other organizations. We’ll also look toward the future and talk about how librarians can easily implement STEM initiatives during Teen Tech Week. This discussion will be moderated by Shannon Peterson, youth services librarian at Kitsap Regional Library.
YA Forum is a monthly discussion just for YALSA members. Each discussion will focus on a specific topic and will be moderated by an expert in the field. YA Forum is hosted in YALSA’s space in 91´«Ã½ Connect at . To access the discussion, you must be a YALSA member.
To access the YA Forum discussion, you must be a YALSA member. Starting at 10 a.m. EDT, members can join the conversation by logging into and choosing “YALSA” under “My 91´«Ã½ Groups,” then selecting “Discussions” on the upper right.
