ALCTS extends free webinar registration for LIS students and faculty

CHICAGO - The Association for Library Collections & Technical Services (ALCTS) is pleased to announce that LIS students who are student members of the 91´«Ã½ may again this year register for any ALCTS webinar free of charge.
Students who wish to take advantage of this offer need to be current student members of 91´«Ã½ and register in advance for the webinar(s) in which they are interested. Students need not be ALCTS members.
In addition, ALCTS is extending its free registration initiative this year to any LIS faculty member who wishes to use any of the ALCTS webinars in their courses. This offer extends to both live and recorded webinars.
Students need only to for the webinar of their choice located on the ALCTS website.
Faculty must contact the ALCTS office in advance to make arrangements for the presentation. Please contact Julie Reese, ALCTS continuing education manager, at jreese@ala.org. Send your name and institution, the name of the webinar, the course you are teaching related to the webinar, number of students in your course and, if a recorded webinar, the date and time you wish to view the webinar.
By supporting LIS education in its areas of interest, acquisitions, collection management, continuing resources, cataloging and metadata and preservation, ALCTS and its members can make an important contribution to the education of the students who will be our colleagues in the future and help the faculty who teach them.
