New eCourse will show how to build library websites with Drupal

CHICAGO - 91´«Ã½ Editions announces a on using the Drupal content management system to build library websites. Sean Fitzpatrick, a librarian and Web developer specializing in Drupal, will serve as the instructor for a six-week facilitated eCourse starting on Nov. 7, 2011.

Drupal is an open source content management tool that allows users to build complex websites without extensive programming, making it perfect for library websites. In this eCourse, librarian, consultant and Drupal expert Sean Fitzpatrick will guide participants in building an attractive, functional library website using Drupal. This test website will be hosted on a server for six months after the eCourse, facilitating additional learning. This eCourse will focus on Drupal 7, while highlighting what is still applicable to Drupal 6. Whether the objective is a simple site or full-service digital branch, this eCourse will give participants the know-how to get a library website up and running.



Sean will introduce you to Drupal, teach you how to set up and configure a site and give you the foundation for learning more.

Sean Fitzpatrick discovered Drupal a few years ago and hasn't looked back. A graduate of the University of North Texas School of Library and Information Science, he has worked in marketing, editing, writing, online content strategy, content management and Web design and development for libraries and organizations that support them. He developed the American Libraries magazine website in Drupal and is a Drupal consultant for LISHost.
