Teen Read Week™ publicity tools encourage teens to “Picture It @ your library”

CHICAGO – With Teen Read Week just around the corner, the 91ý (91ý) is offering online resources to help public and school libraries publicize their activities.

The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) and 91ý’s Public Information Office (PIO) coordinate publicity efforts for Teen Read Week 2011, Oct. 16-22. Librarians can find a publicity toolkit online at , featuring free tools that libraries can use to publicize Teen Read Week activities: , , , , and downloadable featuring Nancy Cartwright, the voice of Bart Simpson.

The 2011 Teen Read Week theme, “Picture It @ your library,” encourages teens to read graphic novels and other illustrated materials, seek out creative books or imagine the world through literature, just for the fun of it.

Since 1998, , sponsored by YALSA, has inspired teens to visit their public and school libraries, select their own reading material and read for the fun of it.
