CHICAGO – At 1 p.m. CDT on April 20, the Public Library Association (PLA) will host a live, hour-long webinar, as part of PLA’s “Public Libraries at Work” monthly webinar series.

Quick Response (QR) Codes are two-dimensional barcodes readable by smart phones that link users to websites, texts, even phone numbers. They offer library staff an innovative way to communicate with patrons about library services, programs, Web content and more.

Carson Block, IT director of the Poudre River (Colo.) Public Library District, will lead this webinar designed to provide an uncomplicated introduction to QR Codes. Library staff specializing in marketing and communications and/or technology should be sure to attend this webinar, along with anyone interested in learning more about this growing technology and its numerous applications.

Cost to attend the webinar is $28 (PLA Members), $31.50 (91´«Ã½ Members) and $35 (Nonmembers). Groups of any size can register for $129. The deadline to register is 4:30 p.m. CDT on April 18.
