Elevate your library’s YA services with YALSA’s practical Nuts & Bolts for Serving Teens preconference

CHICAGO — Teens are an essential part of any library’s service, but gaining their attention and creating programs and services that meet their unique needs can be a challenge. New librarians and generalists alike can learn practical strategies for serving teens that can be implemented immediately during YALSA’s Nuts & Bolts for Serving Teens preconference, scheduled for 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. June 24 in New Orleans.

At this session, presenters will crack open their tool box and share simple strategies for providing basic but effective programs and services for teens. Speakers include: Erin Helmrich on teen programming basics, Mari Hardacre on essential teen services and Jesse Vieau on incorporating technology into services and programs. Tips for managing teen behavior, including proactive measures that can be taken to ensure staff has positive interactions with teens, will also be explored.

Tickets for this half-day preconference cost $129 and include light refreshments.
