91´«Ã½
CHICAGO - Thanks to recent donations from individuals and groups such as the Cub Scout Pack 77 of Ridgewood, N. J., the Staff Organization of the Bloomfield Township (Mich.) Public Library and the Library Association of the City University of New York, the 91´«Ã½ has raised more than $25,000 to help rebuild libraries in Haiti.
“It’s wonderful to have libraries and library supporters of all ages contributing to help our colleagues in Haiti rebuild their libraries and their lives,” stated Keith Michael Fiels, 91´«Ã½ Executive Director.
Funds have already been distributed to help the National Library of Haiti hire an architect to develop plans for the new Petit Goave Public Library and finance the purchase of land for the new Centre Culturel Pyepoudre Community Library.
More is needed as the estimated cost for the construction of the Petit Goave Public Library is $350,000.
