Core Webinar: Moving Out of One-and-Done Strategic Planning

91´«Ã½

CHICAGO—Join Core for the webinar "Moving Out of One-and-Done Strategic Planning" on May 15, 2024, at 1 p.m. CT. Strategic planning is a major undertaking for employees at all levels of a library; drafting a plan in the midst of remote work due to the COVID-19 pandemic made that process even more challenging. This webinar will share the process at a midsized academic library as a new plan was developed under new library leadership. Bryson’s (2018) Strategy Change Cycle was used as a model for completing bottom-up strategic planning, with department break-out activities utilized to avoid telework and Zoom fatigue. The model utilized includes revisions of mission and vision, so the presenters will share some strategies used for engaging the library in crafting their own mission statement. Using Bryson’s model means that the library has also moved to a more agile model of strategic management, rather than one-and-done strategic planning.
