91´«Ã½
Applications are now open for both mentors and mentees for the 2024 cohort of the Core Mentoring Program, which encourages professional development of Core members at any stage in their career in Core's areas of focus. The program aims to support members in expanding their professional skills; develop strong leadership in areas of librarianship covered by Core; provide networking opportunities, and expand members’ professional learning circles.
The deadline to is Monday, September 18, 2023. Applicants will receive confirmation of their acceptance into the program in mid-November.
For mentors, this is a chance to pass on your experience and knowledge by working one-on-one with an enthusiastic colleague who is ready to learn and benefit from your experience. For mentees, it is a great opportunity to learn from an accomplished leader how to explore your potential, demonstrate leadership in your current position, and acquire the skills, attitudes, and relationships that you will need to grow your career.
Formal mentoring runs December 2023 - June 2024. Mentors and mentees are encouraged to continue their mentoring relationship after the program ends. Participants must be members of Core at the start of the program and must attend the Mentor/Mentee virtual orientation in November.
For more information about the Mentoring Program, please contact Core Leadership Development & Mentoring Committee chair, Dennis Smith.
