YALSA seeks program proposals for 2012 Annual Conference

CHICAGO — The Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) will accept proposals for programs for the 2012 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference in Anaheim, Calif., June 21-26. Proposals must be submitted through May 31 at .
YALSA seeks creative, innovative proposals that address new topics or that address current topics in a unique way. Proposals must fall within one of the following categories:
- Advocacy
- Leadership
- Outreach
- Programming
- Readers' Advisory
- Research
- Young Adult Literature
- Youth Participation
Individuals may submit multiple proposals, although no individual will be chosen to present or co-present more than one program. Proposals that are largely sales pitches or that focus on only one particular product will not be accepted. All presenters, moderators, speakers or anyone otherwise affiliated with giving the presentation will be expected to cover their own travel and conference registration costs. Programs need to be either 90 or 120 minutes in length.
Those who submitted proposals will be notified of their status by July 31, 2011.
