Teens choose “Catching Fire” as their favorite book in YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten

CHICAGO — Teen readers across the country chose “Catching Fire” by Suzanne Collins as their favorite book in the annual vote, sponsored by the (YALSA), a division of the 91ý (91ý). Teens cast more than 8,000 votes online between August 23 and Sept. 17, with the official list announcement during ™, October 17-24.
The 2010 Teens’ Top Ten is:

World Wrestling Entertainment® Diva Eve™ announced the 2010 Teens’ Top Ten winners, in a webcast posted at , and . YALSA and WWE® also made the announcement video available as a downloadable file for teachers and librarians to use and intend to make it available on TeacherTube.
The Teens’ Top Ten is a book list created entirely by and for teens as part of YALSA’s Teens’ Top Ten Project, which facilitates access to advance copies of young adult books to national teen book discussion groups. These groups evaluated books published between January 2009 and April 2010 and then created a list of 26 nominations. Teen voters across the country then cast ballots for their three favorites, creating the 2010 Teens’ Top Ten. Final nominations for the 2011 Teens’ Top Ten vote will be posted on Support Teen Literature Day, April 14, at .
