Norman Horrocks-Scarecrow Press Annual Conference Award

CHICAGO - Applications are being accepted for the new Norman Horrocks-Scarecrow Press Annual Conference Award, administered by the newly-formed 91´«Ã½ Retired Members Round Table (RMRT), with funds provided by Scarecrow Press. The $1,000 award is named in honor of the late 91´«Ã½ Honorary Member Dr. Norman Horrocks, who was an active 91´«Ã½ participant both during his career and in retirement. The deadline for applications is Dec. 1.
Eligible candidates must be a RMRT member, retired from full-time paid employment and have a record of active involvement in 91´«Ã½ prior to retirement. Nominees must include a statement of no more than 250 words explaining how they would benefit from and contribute to participation in Annual Conference.

RMRT, created and approved by the Council of the 91´«Ã½, is charged with developing programs of particular interest to retired persons from all types of libraries and all forms of library services, including formal opportunities for continued involvement and learning; a variety of leadership training and opportunities for mentoring; lifelong professional involvement and networking; and active engagement in 91´«Ã½ and the profession of librarianship.
