CHICAGO—Core: Leadership, Infrastructure, Futures will host the full-day tour “Core Chicago Area Public Library Tours" on Friday, June 23, 2023, during the 2023 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago, IL. Come tour three unique public libraries in the Chicago area, Chicago Public Library’s Chinatown and Independence branches in the city and Skokie Public Library in the northern suburbs. Library staff and architects will lead the tours and be available for questions, and lunch will be served during the event. Participants will learn how a library can be combined with a housing project, gain knowledge of how a library can be sensitively renovated to allow for a completely reimagined library experience, and find out how a library can be designed to be flexible for future changes.
