Bell wins ALTAFF/Gale Outstanding Trustee Conference Grant

PHILADELPHIA – The Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), a division of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½), has awarded the ALTAFF/Gale Outstanding Trustee Conference Grant to Dottie Howard Bell, a Trustee of the Shreve Memorial Library in Shreveport, La. Bell will receive $850 to attend the 2011 91´«Ã½ Annual Conference June 23-28 in New Orleans June 23-28. A formal presentation to Bell will be made at the conference.
Bell was appointed a Trustee of the Shreve Memorial Library in December 2005 and was re-appointed in 2010 for another five-year term. She currently serves as the chair of the library board’s personnel committee and the board representative for the Green Gold Library System. She is also a member of the Caddo Parish (La.) School Board. Bell is a member of the Louisiana Library Association and 91´«Ã½.
The ALTAFF/Gale Outstanding Grant is awarded annual to a public library Trustee who has demonstrated qualitative interests and efforts in support of his or her local library.
