ALTAFF and 91´«Ã½ Conference Services to sponsor Spotlight on Adult Literature at Midwinter Meeting

PHILADELPHIA - The Association of Library Trustees, Advocates, Friends and Foundations (ALTAFF), a division of the 91´«Ã½ (91´«Ã½), along with 91´«Ã½ Conference Services, will sponsor a Spotlight on Adult Literature from 2 to 4 p.m. CST on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Exhibit Hall at the 2012 91´«Ã½ Midwinter Meeting in Dallas.
Participating publishers will host book and galley giveaways, author signings, and more.
- Algonquin Books (Booth 1339) will host a galley signing and giveaway of "All Woman and Springtime" by Brandon Jones.
- Macmillan (Booth 1509) will host giveaways of advance copies and books.
- W.W. Norton & Company, Inc. (Booth 1522) will be giving away ARCs of several titles, including "Heft," a novel by Liz Moore.
- Grove/Atlantic (Booth 1544) will host author signings from 3 to 4 p.m. Jeanette Winterson will sign galleys of her memoir "Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal?", and Val McDermid will sign copies of her new book "The Retribution."
- Hachette Book Group (Booth 1613) will host special galley and book giveaways and author signings.
- Perseus Book Group (Booth 1644) will be doing galley giveaways. In addition, when any librarian or library staff member signs up to receive Perseus’ library newsletter, he or she will automatically be entered to win an e-reader.
- Random House, Inc. (Booth 1728) will host its spring 2012 galley grab, featuring titles including "The Dressmaker" by Kate Alcott, "The Expats" by Chris Pavone, and "Crossing the Borders of Time" by Leslie Maitland.
