ACRL offering e-Learning scholarships

CHICAGO - The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) announces e-Learning scholarships to help librarians, library staff and library school students stretch their professional development dollars. Fifteen e-Learning scholarships will be awarded, 10 covering the registration cost of a Webcast and five covering the cost of an online course. Complete details are available at .

To qualify for a scholarship, applicants must be ACRL members, complete the online scholarship application form and submit a 300-word written statement that describes how participation in an ACRL e-Learning event meets your professional needs and goals. The application deadline is Dec. 7, 2011, with notifications issued in January 2012.

ACRL e-Learning Webcasts are offered live in an interactive, online classroom and are typically 1.5 hours in length. ACRL online courses are primarily asynchronous, offering weekly readings, assignments and discussion forums. Scholarships can be redeemed for ACRL e-Learning events offered between Feb. 1, 2012, and Aug. 31, 2012. A complete list of ACRL e-Learning offerings is available at .
