AASL Fall Forum advanced registration ends Oct. 21

CHICAGO – The deadline for advanced registration pricing for the American Association of School Librarians' (AASL) 2010 Fall Forum ends Oct. 21. Hotel rooms can also be booked at the discounted rate through Oct. 21. IN FOCUS: The Essentials of 21st-Century Learning will be held Nov. 5-6 in Portland, Ore. The institute's three breakout sessions, featuring three preeminent school library researchers, Gail Dickinson, Leslie Maniotes and Ross Todd, will guide attendees' understanding of how essential questions, enduring understanding and evidence-based practice align with AASL's learning standards and program guidelines. With special time to focus on implementation and a networking session, attendees will leave the institute prepared to implement their action plan within their schools and/or districts.
Recently announced, attendees of the institute can receive graduate credit through Portland State University. The cost is $65. A representative from the university will be on site to discuss this option with attendees.
In addition, school librarians are encouraged to bring their teacher collaborators, school administrators or school librarian peers from within their district to take advantage of the "Team of Three" special rate of $599. Rules and regulations for this rate are on the .
