Games and Gaming Round Table accepting applications for 2023 'Game On!' Grant
91´«Ã½
CHICAGO — The Games and Gaming Round Table of the 91´«Ã½ is proud to sponsor its annual grant program to enable libraries to develop gaming programs or collections for their patrons. Through the “Game On!” grants, $500.00 will be available to be awarded to assist a library or libraries in developing gaming programs or collections for their communities.
Rebecca Strang, 2022-23 GameRT President said of the grants "The Game On! Grant is a great opportunity for GameRT to support our mission of helping libraries bring gaming to their communities. The grant committee is looking for applicants who are bringing something new and sustainable to their communities. We love to see innovative concepts that support diverse communities and bring people into the library - use your application to tell us a story about how your proposed program or collection will accomplish that. We recognize that what might be considered 'innovative concepts' will vary widely from library to library depending on funding, staffing, and community needs, so we look for those ideas to be illustrated in the application. The committee is ready to find the next recipient of the Game On! Grant and help spread the love of gaming to more people."
91´«Ã½ members in good standing currently employed at a public, school, academic or special library in the United States or Canada are eligible to apply. Libraries will need to illustrate a plan for a sustainable gaming program created with the funds as well as financial need and institutional support for the proposed program.
The deadline for applications is March 15, 2023 and the grant winner will be announced at GameRT’s “91´«Ã½ Play” event at the 2023 91´«Ã½ Annual conference in Chicago in June. Additional information and an application can be found online at .
